Exploring the Unique Properties and Inspirations of a Silver A' Design Award Winner

Zhanqiang Li's design inspiration for the Langyue Merchants Center stems from the human perception and experience of indoor environments. By minimizing external decorative elements, the space is imbued with a spiritual connotation and enduring vitality, reflecting a profound sense of spatial beauty.

What sets the Langyue Merchants Center apart from other office spaces is its innovative use of glass material to blur the boundaries of the area while maintaining the independence of the space. The design of the three-dimensional semi-empty traffic staircase not only reveals the split-level hollow structure inside the building but also enriches the spatial hierarchy and interesting experience.

The design employs basic geometric forms to extend the architectural form to the interior, showcasing the power and beauty of geometric structure. The concept of deconstruction is used to translate abstract deconstruction into simple and shocking geometric forms, dismantling and displacing them to achieve the most comfortable space experience and a fresh visual sense.

The project presented several design challenges, including the creation of diverse experiential scenes and interactive feelings using flowing and suspended spatial forms. By organizing new forms on the original architectural framework, the design gives people a new sense of vision and thinking. It extends and expands the original floor heights, breaking through the boundary between the height of the floor and the boundary between the blocks, giving the space a brand-new experience of moving lines and a rich multi-dimensional feeling.

The Langyue Merchants Center's design team, led by Creative Director Zhanqiang Li and including designers Shijie Li and Fei Yu, has successfully created a public space that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. The design's unique properties and innovative approach have earned it the Silver A' Design Award, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
